<p>We have plenty of surf on the Big Island, whether you are a first timer looking for a lesson, a beginner who needs a rental and some tips on where they can surf without getting hassled, or an experienced surfer who needs current information on swell size and direction in order to make educated decisions on where to surf, drop in to Kona Boys for all of your surf needs.</p>

<h3>Surf Lessons <a name="surfing"></a></h3>
<p>Hawaii is home to surfing and the perfect place to paddle out for your first time. Kona Boys offers both private and small group lessons, no more than three people. As with all water sports, safety comes first so all lessons begin with an onshore orientation covering equipment, ocean awareness, etiquette, and fundamentals. Once in the water we’ll take time practicing basic skills such as paddling, turning, and sitting on the board to assure that you have a level of control, and then we’ll hit the surf.</p>
<p>We specialize in private and small group lessons to ensure that you get plenty of personalized instruction. The lessons include your instructors, the surf boards, booties, and rash guards.</p>
<p>In order to have the least impact on the ocean, we ask that you apply sunscreen before you come to the beach allowing it to soak into your skin rather than creating oil slicks in Kahalu’u Bay.</p>

<p>Kona Boys sells new, used, and consignment surfboards of all shapes and sizes—fish, fun, thruster, gun, longboard, wahine, and stand up paddleboards. Come in to get your first board, add to quiver, or sell your board!</p>

<p>Kona Boys keeps a solid stock of new boards both epoxy and traditional ranging from fish and shortboards to miniguns and noseriders, as well as all the gear you’ll need before you paddle out; leashes, boardshorts, boardbags, kickpads, and wax. So drop in before you paddle out.</p>
